WiiWare, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Fit availabilty announced for US by Nintendo

Nintendo has announced the availability of three of its much-awaited products- WiiWare, Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros Brawl. This was announced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, which attracts the video game industry’s top creative minds.

According to Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, “We are excited to participate in the Game Developers Conference this year to share with developers and consumers alike our upcoming unique services and products. We are hopeful that they will appreciate our offerings of WiiWare, Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which represent a trio that will continue to attract new players to the world of video games.”

WiiWare is Nintendo’s way of offering developers of games a virtual lab that serves as a breeding ground for new games. WiiWare will offer them the chance to try out new ideas with lower risk in a quicker, more creative and affordable manner.

As for consumers, they will be able to download a host of new games covering different genres for the Wii at a dynamic price range. WiiWare will also empower consumers to determine with their Wii Points, which games have the right stuff to become the next big thing in gaming.

It is known that early WiiWare titles will come to well-known game developers like Square Enix, which is at present working on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, which is a simulation game for all ages. Other developers expected to be seen on WiiWare include Frontier with its enchanting platform adventure LostWindows. Telltale will also be coming out with a new episodic game title.

WiiWare will be launching in the US on May 12, 2008.

Next up is Wii Fit, which enables Wii owners to remain fit by keeping active. It comes with the weight-and-motion-sensing Wii Balance Board. This title also includes access to the Wii Fit Channel, which is an interactive channel that lets users check in daily to track their fitness progress through weight and Body Mass Index.

Wii Fit was first launched on December 1, 2007 in Japan. Now, it will be coming to the US on May 19, 2008.

Lastly, one of the Nintendo’s most-awaited games- Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be launching on March 9 in the US. The game includes numerous characters from all across the Nintendo Universe, settings options and methods of play.
