Konami has announced the suspension of the Metal Gear Online beta for an undefined date in US and UK.

Extraordinary levels of traffic is said to be the reason behind taking such a step. On one hand Konami should be happy for getting a huge traffic, which ironically made it discontinue the service for some time.

“We regret to inform you that due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected,” wrote Konami on its official blog.

Further Konami said, “As a temporary measure, we will be deferring the start of the US public beta test until we are able to stabilize our server.”

Further announcement of the opening date will be announced on April 22 by Konami. While the Beta Test closure date is postponed till May 11. Earlier it was scheduled to close on May 6th.
