Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 on PC Gamer

Yesterday, we brought you news of the coming of BioWare’s Mass Effect to PCs sometime in April 2008. Today, we have some more news from PC game publisher BioWare, that Electronic Arts Los Angeles is currently developing Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

Red Alert 3 will be the first installment in the Command & Conquer series ever since the Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge expansion pack for the PC was released in 2001.

Both Command & Conquer and Red Alert were set in an alternate history where, following the assassination of Hitler, Joseph Stalin invades Western Europe. The game is filled with warfare and saw players fighting as either the European resistance or as a Soviet general taking orders from “Uncle Joe” himself.

The news of EALA developing Red Alert 3 came to be known from the April 2008 cover of PC Gamer magazine. In fact, scans of the cover are doing the rounds on the Internet.

PC Gamer magazine has promised its readers an exclusive first look at Red Alert 3. Other than confirmation of its existence, the April 2008 cover does not provide much details of the game.

Will we see the return of Yuri, the powerful psychic who played a major role in Red Alert 2? This is just one of the questions that are left to be answered.
