A ZeniMax Media company, Bethesda Softworks made public the fact that its very popular title, Fallout 3 has in fact seen record sales since its release. The company claims to have globally shipped around 4.7 million units of Fallout 3 last week for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows.
In terms of popularity Fallout 3 is the next famous title by Bethesda Softworks after the very successful Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The latter holds the title of one of the highest scoring games ever published and was also honored ‘Game of the Year’ in 2006. Now Fallout 3 seems to be following suit. Featuring on over 100 magazine covers across the world, Fallout 3 is available in eight languages.
With retail sales exceeding of $300 million across the three platforms, the game appears to have caught on really fast in terms of demand. Launched on October 28 2008 in North America at midnight store openings in over 2,000 retail outlets, the title became one of the top sellers in the gaming terrain managed to attract thousands of fans were eager to lay their hands on Fallout 3.
