Xbox LIVE Logo Xbox Live is now going the Facebook or perhaps even the MySpace way! Gamers will now be able to interact with other like-minded people because Microsoft has announced a new feature called “Friends of Friends”. This new feature will be available with the Fall Dashboard update scheduled for December 4, enabling Xbox LIVE users to expand their friends network.

Friends of Friends will allow users to check out the friends list of fellow Xbox LIVE members from the Dashboard itself.

Moreover, Xbox LIVE users will able to find old friends or connect with new ones within the community. Users will also be able to send and receive messages as well as game invites. They will also be able to compare games and achievements.

For those who wish to keep their list of friends private, they will be able to change the settings by logging onto www.xbox.com/fof, and selecting one of the three available options for the Gamertag.

Xbox 360 gamers will be offered a choice of three options for their Gamertag:

  • Everyone (only available to members of 18 years and older)
  • Friends Only (available to members aged 13 and older)
  • Blocked (available to all members, and automatic for anyone under the age of 13)
  • The Xbox Live Fall Dashboard Update is slated to be out on December 4, 2007.
