Nintendo Wii Play

Nintendo has unveiled its newest series of mini games called “Wii Play”. Wii Play is meant to allow Nintendo Wii gamers enjoy the Wii controller and also to make games more fun and intuitive for non-gamers.

The new Nintendo game title Wii Play comes bundled with a Wii-mote and has nine mini games that teach users a series of Wii-mote handling skills. You will thus be able to learn the different ways that the Wii-mote can be used to interact on screen. Each mini-game that is a part of Wii Play, teaches users a different aspect of the Wii-motes capabilities.

The first game on Wii Play is called “Shooting range”, in which one has to shoot balloons, clay pigeons, soda cans and even UFOs. There are also a number of games that revolve around matching objects on screen, with objects being called “Mii’s”. Mii’s are comic characters that players themselves can create on the Nintendo Wii itself. Besides, your self-made Mii will be your virtual Nintendo Wii character or one of your digital personas.

Another game on Wii Plays is called ‘Find Mii’, and is very much like Where’s Waldo or Where’s Wally, where you need to match Mii faces. In ‘Pose Mii’ you will get a chance to learn how to twist the controller to match the orientation of the Mii’s floating around in bubbles on the screen.

Yet another game on Wii Play is table tennis, which of course will be more fun when played in two player mode. Other games also include laser air hockey which has really cool neon lighting and ultra-cool sound effects. Then there’s a fishing game, a game of billiards where one can use the Wii-mote as a pool cue, a cow-racing game, where one gets to hold the Wii-mote horizontally like a steering wheel, and a strategy game called “Tanks!” in which one can plug in the nun-chuk accessory and play a game of shooting tanks.

Wii Play will set you short of $50 (Rs.2,250) and is worth every penny as besides the nine games provided by Nintendo, you also get an extra Wii-mote.
