‘God of War II’ for the Sony PS2 emerges as the Top Selling Video Game for March 2007

God of War II Game The Greek mythology-inspired action adventure game title for the Sony PlayStation 2 gaming console, God of War II was the biggest selling video game in the United States in March 2007. On Monday, market research firm, NPD Group revealed this bit of news in a report.

In the report, NPD Group said that Sony’s God of War II sold 833,000 units at retail in March 2007, making it the best selling game title for the month of March.

God of War II was followed by Ubisoft Entertainment’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Activision’s Guitar Hero II, both of which are Microsoft Xbox 360 game titles.

God of War II was released on March 13, 2007, and its sales numbers are more than double the next top-selling game on the list-the multi-platform shooter Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

Nintendo’s Wii Play nabbed the fourth position. This motion-sensitive variety game pack includes an extra Wii REmore controller and the game costs $49.99.

Sony’s MotorStorm for the PlayStation 3 came out fifth, rounding out the top five. This dirt racing game was released to a March release in order to add online multiplayer functionality to the game.

For all those who have not yet tried out God of War II for the Sony PS2 gaming console, then you better do so, for IGN, a very popular gaming news Website described the game as “the greatest action game ever created.”
