The Godfather game Reports are ringing the bell towards a rather piece of news. Apparently Electronic Arts (EA) is developing a sequel to The Godfather game, which is a game based on Mario Puzo’s novel of the same name. An investor report gathered by Nollenberger Capital Partners is responsible for the disclosure of its development.

The reports reads, “The open-world engine was built from the ground up for Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons. Godfather 2 is also in development currently, though timing is unknown.”

NCP analyst Todd Greenwald went to the Electronic Arts studio in Redwood City and spent some time over there. He told Gamesindustry.biz, “We learned that EA is leveraging the momentous amount of development time and costs that went into The Godfather game. The open-world engine was built from the ground up for The Godfather, and is now being used by five different franchises, including The Simpsons. The Godfather 2 is also in development currently, though timing is unknown.

Hopefully EA will now make an announcement about the The Godfather 2 game within the next few days, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Here’s crossing fingers that new Godfather game hits all major current and last generation platforms, specifically PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2 and Xbox.
