Microsoft Corp. officials have stated that September 25th will be the golden day when the much-awaited game ‘Halo 3’ will be finally available to all Xbox 360 gamers. Claiming to ‘shatter day-one entertainment sales records,’ officials at Redmond-based Microsoft are totally kicked about the release of the game.

‘Halo 3′ (as the name suggests) is the third installment in the successful “Halo” franchise developed by Bungie Studios of Redmond. Speaking about sales number, Bungie mentioned that the Halo games have sold over 14.7 million units worldwide. When Halo 2 was introduced in November 2004, Bungie officials said it recorded $125 million in sales on its first day.

Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business said “Halo 3 is much more than a video game release; it’s the biggest entertainment event of the year.”

Halo 3 will be available in three versions namely a ‘standard’ edition for $59.99, a ‘limited’ edition that incorporates features about the making of the game for $69.99, and a $129.99 ‘legendary edition’ that is packaged with a large metal helmet that looks like the one worn by the game’s main character, Master Chief.

As slated, the Halo 3 Beta went live on May 16th. However, gamers who downloaded the games using the Crackdown keys faced some problems. All the same Bungie has now sent word that they have released a small patch, which has solved the issue.
