Gaming Banned Students in Chinese Universities may not receive a punishment as bad if caught eating, dozing off or perhaps even bunking classes.

Well-known Chinese Universities Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University have put down a rule wherein no freshmen will be permitted to bring computers with them to the university premises.

One of the biggest reasons behind this ruling is to keep away freshmen from getting addicted to online gaming. According to The Education Administration Office at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, these freshmen find it very difficult to fit well into the university life thanks to their engrossment in gaming, which they find close to impossible to resist.

Irrespective of whether a particular student is majoring in computer related studies or not, since five years the policy on the restriction of computers has been applied. All the same, sophomores are allowed to bring a computer only after successfully passing an English test.

A small survey had been conducted, where 15 university students stated in their second year in the university, almost all of them carried computers with them. In addition, it revealed that students immediately started playing games all day long. Besides, 12 students agreed that they failed their respective exams thanks to their gaming habits and 9 admitted that the only reason they brought computers was to play games. In addition, they were also a great amount of boys who were absolutely fixated with the internet.

This banning policy could perhaps help freshmen cope better with their studies and adjust well to the universities. But interestingly addiction experts have proved that video games addiction is not a mental illness. What’s more, you can even turn out to be a successful surgeon thanks to this passion of yours. And as China.org.cn states, internet addiction expert Tao Hongkai says that the means to resolve Internet addition is to educate and instruct students. The effect of a one-year ban is very restrictive.
