Electronics Arts has revealed that FIFA 08 cover athlete Ronaldinho will soon become the world’s very first football player to feature as a customized character for the Nintendo Wii gaming console. Dubbed ‘Footii Party with Ronaldinho,’ this game has been specially designed and conceptualized for the Wii platform.

Speaking about the fascinating character and concept, Brazilian International football star Ronaldinho stated, “My character looks like he enjoys playing football and shares my passion for the game. This is important to me. Whether you are playing football on the pitch or my party games in FIFA 08 on the Wii, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience.”

An interesting character of Ronaldinho has been developed by EA, which players can enjoy on their Wii’s whilst playing the FIFA 08 title. ‘Footii Party with Ronaldinho’ will pack in innovative party games such as Table Football and Shoot Off – where players can play as the self-created Mii character to unlock Ronaldinho and take on the champ. Each Footii Party game is created as a multiplayer, social experience designed to engage and entertain fans of all ages.

“When Ronaldinho steps on to the football pitch, he plays with passion and energy. We’ve brought that same spirit to FIFA 08 on Wii – it is fun, high-energy entertainment the entire family can enjoy,” said senior producer Tim Tschirner.

The new FIFA 08 game features FreeMotion controls that help level the playing field for all players and turns FIFA 08 on the Wii platform into a physical, social activity. Furthermore, it offers players with an experience as thought they are practically on the ground playing the game. The in-game Football Academy that comprises of over 30 interactive tutorials can help newbies also learn the basic and advanced controls. Each lesson teaches players the way to master the FreeMotion controls and perform all the necessary movements to rule over the pitch.
