Sometime ago, we had reported about a crimson red Nintendo DS Lite bundle. Now, the DS Lite will be going platinum and by that we mean that gamers will now be getting a rich silver-colored DS Lite.

However, the platinum silver Nintendo DS will be launched only in Europe. It will be available in the European market from October 12, 2007 onwards for a price of £99 ($200).

Until now, statistics show that Nintendo has sold over 14 million DS Lite pieces in the European market alone.

The company has also said that strong sales of the DS Lite are complemented by the growing sales of recently launched games like Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. Combined, these two game titles have already sold 1.6 million copies within just 7 weeks of their European launch.

Another popular Nintendo DS game title has been the ‘More Brain training from Dr. Kawashima: How Old is Your Brain’. This game went on to sell 9,15,000 copies in 11 weeks since its European launch.

Nintendo hopes to continue progressing at the same momentum by offering newer game titles. One of the much-awaited game titles is ‘The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass’, which is scheduled for an October 19 launch in Europe.
