Walt Disney, Microsoft partner to offer Movies on Demand via Xbox LIVE Marketplace

Now you can have the magical world of Disney in your living room using the Xbox LIVE service on your Xbox 360 console.

Yesterday, at the ongoing E3 Media & Business Summit, Microsoft and Disney announced an agreement to bring Walt Disney feature films to Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Microsoft’s leading high-definition video download service.

Xbox 360 owners who use the Xbox LIVE service will now have access to a growing catalog of new and classic movies from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and Miramax Films via Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

For instance, newly released movies such as Miramax Film’s “The Queen”, Touchstone Pictures’ “Déjà Vu” And even “Bridge to Terabithia” are already available. Movies will be available in both High-definition and standard-definition formats.

High-definition movie rentals which are newly released will cost 480 Microsoft Points each, while standard-definition new-release movie rentals are 320 Microsoft Points each.

Classic feature films in high definition cost 360 Microsoft Points, while standard definition one’s would cost you 240 Microsoft Points.
