Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has Activision and Gibson teaming up

Activision has finally released some solid details of its much-awaited Guitar Hero III game. The game which is being developed for the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii was accidentally revealed by RedOctane in April.

First off, the game is called Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and is expected to feature over 20 Gibson guitar models along with eighty finishes which can be used to further embellish the guitars.

Details of the guitars that will feature in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock:

  • Gibson: ES-335, Explorer, Firebird, SG, Les Paul, V-Factor, Super CES400, Marauder, Corvus
  • Epiphone: Casino, Coronet, Sheraton
  • Kramer: 650, Vanguard
  • Bass Guitars: Marauder, Corvus,Les Paul, LP Double Cutaway, EDS 1275, ES335, Firebird, Flying V, Moderne, SG, X-Plorer
  • For this, Activision has signed an exclusive partnership with Gibson Guitars. Thus, these great looking and sounding guitars will definitely be seen in the forthcoming Guitar Hero game.

    The forthcoming Guitar Hero III game is also expected to have wireless Gibson guitar controllers. This will surely make the game more realistic to play.

    According to Henry Juszkiewicz, CEO of Gibson Guitar, “Our relationship with Activision began with the launch of Guitar Hero over two years ago. Since then the game has had phenomenal success and many other makers have tried to compete with its popularity.”

    Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is being developed by Neversoft. It is slated to be released for the PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 36o consoles in late 2007, probably in time for the holiday season.
