Guitar Hero III Pack

Guitar Hero III was rolled out on the Nintendo Wii on October 28th. The title that initially claimed to be in the stereo format, compatible with Dolby Pro Logic II surround-sound-standard, but after the excited gamers plugged it in, guess what they found out – the music game was in mono format!

That’s when the irate gamers started posting on leading gaming sites such as IGN etc about the problems they were facing and demanded a response from Activision/Red Octane, who are the publishers of Guitar Hero III. Though initially Activision preferred remaining silent on the issue, but now they have finally come out with a statement. The publisher told IGN that it is currently working on the problem and is in the works of having a fix for the same by early 2008.

IGN reported that Activision spokeswoman Rhy-Ming Poon said, “We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game.” Adding, “We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience.”

In fact, IGN mentioned that there were as many as 970 posts about the problem on the company’s official Guitar Hero III message boards. The posts read that after users sent an email to Activision technical support about the issue as early as Oct. 29, they received the following response:

“We are looking in to it right now. The time frame is still unknown at the moment we are still looking in to the problem.”

The re-mastered discs will apparently be offered to consumers free of charge by 2008, positively!
