Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning hits Asia

Electronic Arts has just announced that their much-anticipated MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will soon be available in major Asian regions including Korea, Taiwan, China and Japan.

The MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been developed by Mythic and is based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe.

For the first time the game features a realm versus realm mode where players can join one of six armies battling it out over three warfronts in a never-ending struggle for territory and resources. The game also integrates both player versus player (PvP) combat zones and player versus environment (PvE) quests on the very same map.

According to Hubert Larenaudie, President of EA Asia Online, “Warhammer Online is coming to Asia. WAR is one of the most anticipated MMORPGs today and we are excited to bring the game to Asian audiences. With its unique RvR system and rich end game content, Warhammer Online is sure to set a new standard for MMORPGs in Asia.”

“Over the last twenty-four years, Games Workshop has crafted and refined the Warhammer fantasy universe into one of the richest intellectual properties in the world,” says Mark Jacobs, GM of EA Mythic and lead designer of WAR. “Combine this with EA Mythic’s expertise in creating massively multiplayer online games and the result is a title that we look forward to presenting to the exciting and vibrant Asian market.”

EA also released a number of screenshots of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Thr company has setup a website at warhammer-online.com.cn for Chinese gamers to get a peak at the development of the game.
