Ubisoft, one of the leading Videogame developers worldwide has stated that their upcoming Sci-fi First Person Shooter ‘Haze’ is being developed exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 3 console.

This news may perhaps come as a shock to PC as well as Xbox 360 gamers. But think of it in this way just as Xbox 360 gamers got Gears of War, now it’s only fair that PS3 gamers get their share of exclusivity too!

Haze for the PS3 is a war-based game. The game is set in the year 2048 and will see the biggest force called Mantel Global Industries who has a private militia under its control taking over everything. Further on, the game revolves around the Mantel fighting against a group of South American rebels called The Promise Hand.

Haze for the PS3 is being developed by Free Radical Design and the game is expected to ship in November 2007.

Interestingly, there were speculations that Haze would be released on multiple platforms including Xbox 360 and PC. There could perhaps be a tinge of truth to this as a Ubisoft spokesperson told GameSpot, “the official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed.”

This means that Ubisoft is open to partnerships for future development of the game on other platforms. So there is a ray of hope for all you Xbox 360 and PC gamers! But for now, only Haze for the PS3 has officialy been confirmed.
