Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer infuriates NYC Officials
It was just last week that the trailer of the new Grand Theft Auto IV game title was released. With the latest installation of the game set in NYC once again, there seems to be trouble brewing in paradise for the makers of the game, Rockstar once again.
The game which already has violence as its middle name, has this time invited upon itself the wrath of New York City officials, who have condemned the game on seeing the trailer.
From the beginning of its time, Grand Theft Auto has been getting a lot of attention, be it good or bad. Earlier, GTA had been in a legal tangle for its sex content. Sex workers even went on a drive to boycott the game. Apparently, the game even served as an inspiration to one violent soul who murdered a Parish man.
In this latest condemnation of GTA IV, which is set in Liberty City, a city which closely resembles New York City, a number of people have spoken out against the game.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said, “It’s despicable to glamorize violence in games like these regardless of how far-fetched the setting may be.”
The trailer of GTA IV that was released by Rockstar last week, does not even depict any violence. But, the fact of the matter remains that fans will be expecting a whole lot of violence in the game. This time things won’t be different, we hope!
