T-Online ties-up with Intel to offer Games based on Intel’s Viiv technology
Gamesload, the T-Online digital shop for PC games, has entered into a joint venture with chip making giant Intel in Germany and is having its services established for Intel Viiv technology.
In other words, Gamesload will now distribute games for entertainment platforms based on Intel Viiv technology. This will allow gamers to play PC games bought through the internet directly on the TV set, if and only if they have the appropriate equipment with the remote control or the Gamepad.
Intel Viiv technology singles out PCs which are especially suitable for clustering forms of digital entertainment. This includes TV, personal photo archives, music, films and the games accessed via Gamesload. Viiv-based PCs use a Dual Core processor and link the TV set with the internet.
Viiv customers will be able to get their hands on Gamesload games by mid-August.
In January, T-Online and Intel reached agreement on adapting the video on demand service of T-Online Vision to the Intel Viiv technology.
So far, renowned publishers as Atari, Codemasters, Eidos, Koch Media, and Ubisoft have been offering PC games via Gamesload.
