Web browser for the Nintendo DS Mobile Console released

Nintendo DS Here’s some great news for all the owners of Nintendo’s mobile console DS. And the news is that very soon they all will be able to use it to surf the web. The browser if slated to release in October 6th.

The user needs a WLAN connection to get onto the internet. This can also be done at public hotspots that Nintendo is offering for free. Till now, the DS has offered online functionality only to allow players to compete head-to-head on the Net.

The DS browser will incorporate a mode to automatically depict websites across its two screens. Parents have the option of barring access to certain websites. The DS touchscreen will act as a keyboard. If the user wants to perform a function like composing emails, he can use the digital keyboard on the touchscreen or write the mails longhand using the touch pen.

The browser will cost around 40 euros (51 dollars) and was developed by Opera, Nintendo has revealed.
