Atari Signs Deal with Playlogic Entertainment to Distribute ‘Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales’
Atari and Playlogic Entertainment have signed a deal under which Atari will distribute “Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales”, the latest PC role-playing title, throughout Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
“Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales”, which will be released for the Windows by September 2006, has been developed by Russian developer Akella, the team behind the successful pirate titles “Sea Dogs”, “Age of Sail 2″ and “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Set in the 17th century, the “Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales” invites players to experience all the strutting excitement and reckless adventures of a pirate’s life on the Caribbean seas.
Players can assume the role of a careless fortune-hunter Blaze or alternatively become his red-headed daredevil stepsister Beatrice, and sail the rough seas in a tall ship with a loyal crew of nasty cutthroats and ferocious corsairs. Sharpen your skills in massive naval battles and sword fights, take on challenging quests, trade goods and plunder merchant convoys to make your fortune. Build up your fleet then capture and rule colonies to become the mightiest and most dreaded pirate of the Caribbean seas.
Stefan Layer, Vice President and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Playlogic said, “We are very excited to have found in ATARI our distribution partner for ‘Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales’, the widely anticipated latest incarnation of this successful Pirate series. “ATARI has an excellent worldwide distribution network, a highly motivated team and the right marketing approach.
