Storing or transferring digital data is one of the prime concerns of users across the globe. With the advent of USB 3.0, the storage segment turned to a new page of innovation. Now, Apacer has put forth its latest such solution – AC230 USB 3.0 external HDD.
Touting to offer read and write rates up to 92MB and 85 MB per second respectively, the AC230 speeds up to three times quicker compared to USB 2.0 models. Its lightweight, slim construction enables it easily portable while the hard drive can be picked in 500GB, 640GB and 750GB storage capacities.
This Apacer solution promises to lower the wait times. It takes 4 minutes to transfer a 20GB high-resolution video, according to the company. This overshadows the 12 minutes taken by a USB 2.0 hard drive. It also bundles up smart power management abilities that work in tandem with the computer’s operating system.
The Apacer AC230 External HDD automatically works in energy-saving mode. If the drive is unused for 10 minutes then the Apacer AC230 runs into power-saving mode, ensuring prolonged life. This back-ward compatible (USB 2.0) drive poses a dual-color LED, informing users the real time status of the hard drive. The one-touch backup function adds to the convenience while PCClone EX Lite, a graphical user-interface backup utility allows configuring users’ personal backup preferences. The pricing of the product is unclear.
