For Mac owners in India, Western Digital has launched two new external hard drives in the country. The My Passport for Mac and My Book for Mac, as the name suggests, come pre-formatted for Mac.

While the My Passport for Mac is available in the capacities of 320 GB and 500 GB for Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 9,000 respectively, the My Book Mac Edition offers 1 TB of capacity for Rs. 16,000.

“WD listened to the Mac community who wanted the simplicity of a USB external drive that complements the design of their Mac computer. Now our users can choose from a full range of storage solutions that are ready to use with their Mac computers right out of the box,” said Sharad Srivastava, Director Sales (India & South Asia), Western Digital.

“From the sleek design of the new My Passport for Mac, to the use of the eco-friendly hard drive technology on the My Book Mac Edition, WD continues to deliver what Mac users are looking for,” he added.

The drives have been fabricated to work seamlessly with popular Mac softwares like Apple Time Machine and others.

Those who are not familiar with the features of the drives, here is a quick list – My Passport for Mac portable drive offers compatibility with Apple Time Machine, shock-resistant body, simple USB interface and powering up enabled via the USB-bus, Mac-ready, formatted HFS+ Journaled and finally 3 year limited warranty.

My Book Mac edition boasts of eco-friendly design enabled by the Green Power technology and energy-efficiency, noiseless operation sans fan, full recyclable product packaging, shock-resistance, formatted HFS+ Journaled, easy- plug-and-play set up and 1 year of limited warranty.
