While the CES 2010 still has many days to go, technology enthusiasts are already treated with a number of innovative devices. The most recent offering from NEC Display Solution includes two NP Short Throw series projectors that allow abundant energy savings. The company unveils the feature-rich NP510WS and NP610S projectors for educators, corporate users and more.

Suiting the requirements of educational facilities and corporate applications alike, the novel projectors should satiate needs of a short throw distance in classrooms and conference rooms. A host of eco-friendly features like the wide-format NP510WS and standard aspect NP610S find their place in the projectors. Besides expanding the life of the device, these attributes also help save energy and money.

Armed with Eco Mode technology, the lamp life of the projectors is extended by up to 5000 hours while they also offer lower power consumption. With a noise level of just around 29dB for near silent operation, the projectors’ power management controls contribute to energy savings. They automatically turn the unit off when an incoming signal is not detected from any of the inputs. Besides quick start of 3-4 seconds and quick shutdown allow for immediate use while power off functionality further enhances the energy efficiency.

“The next-generation NP Short Throw Series was purposely designed for ease-of-use in areas with small throw distances, such as classrooms, conference rooms and training rooms, where a bright image is needed,” mentioned Rich McPherson, Product Manager at NEC Display Solutions. “The NP510WS and NP610S are cost-effective products that include a multitude of technologies to help presenters give efficient and successful presentations.”

Innovative features like longer filter usage time and a carbon savings meter encouraged by an optional message at system startup are also included in the NEC projectors. Eliminating shadows on the screen thanks to the short throw lens, the projectors also wrap in Virtual Remote (DDC/CI) that controls the projector straight from a computer minus any additional cables. Bundled with remote diagnostics, the projectors also include closed captioning for easy display of text information for the hearing impaired.

Incorporated with automatic Vertical Keystone Correction that permits tilting of the projector up or down to still generate a square image, there’s also an Auto Power On that eliminates the need for a remote control. Users can also take advantage of the AutoSense feature that enables quick setup for users needing fast functionality. Including dual computer inputs namely VGA and DVI-I with HDCP, the devices also come with integrated RJ45 connection.

Without removing the projector from the mount, users can easily change the top cover lamp. Equipped with a powerful 7-watt speaker, users can also acquire the optional wall mount kit for flexibility during integration. There’s also an optional control and signal interface box that allows management of power on/off, input switching and volume.

Starting January 2010, the NP510WS and NP610S projectors will hit stands for an estimated price of $949 and $999, respectively. With a standard 2-year limited parts and labor warranty, the projectors include the first year warranty with InstaCare.
