Samsung P3 portable multimedia player sets the tunes at CES 2009

Taking user interactivity to elevated heights, the latest entertaining portable player comes from Samsung. Dubbed as P3, the company has recently rolled out its award winning MP3 player that boasts of true haptic feedback and music hot touch key. The innovative player was honored with the CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award.
With a large 3” WQVGA TFT LCD touch screen, the P3 allows users to view video and photos in 16:9 aspect ratio. The player thus eliminates the need for letterboxing. Samsung has also included its upgraded EmoTure touch interface that boasts of true haptic feedback that allows the P3 to respond to a range of command gestures like swiping finger, switch to audio tracks, digital button hold down for fast forwarding and many more.
Speaking on the occasion, Reid Sullivan, vice president of Audio/Video and Digital Imaging Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, commented, “The Samsung P3 makes MP3 multitasking dead simple even for the most demanding consumers. With this player, we’ve combined easy multimedia playback with a beautiful high-end design you’ll want to show off. Whether it’s the P3’s sharp and bright 3-inch touch screen for video and photos or the advanced user interface, consumers will be guaranteed a more personal entertainment experience.”
In a die-cast metal casing, the player has been specifically designed to keep it free from fingerprints and scratches. Below the touch screen panel, the player incorporates a novel Music Hot touch Key that gives instant access to music content. Additional features of the Samsung P3 player are the updated DNSe 3.0 sound enhancement technology which ensures users are delivered accurate sound quality, built-in speakers and an FM radio.
Bundled with a studio quality audio player, video player, an ultra portable photo album, personal voice recorder, Bluetooth connectivity support, the P3 also has an integrated microphone and portable storage drive. The P3 widescreen portable multimedia player is just about 0.39 inches in thickness.
Donning matte black and matte silver finishes along with storage options of 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB, the Samsung P3 player will start shipping around the first half of 2009. As of now there is no word on the price of the device.
