With next-generation consoles complete with motion sensing technology and amazingly crisp graphics, anyone would think that gaming is at its peak. But wait, there’s more to come as Carnegie Mellon Scientists have developed the Haptic controller which is poised to change the way we game! Besides enjoying the best of sight and sound in video game consoles, soon we might even be able to incorporate your sense of touch! If you are not a gamer, don’t fret. This technology could also come in use when buying items such as clothes or fabric over the Internet, as you’ll actually be able to feel it. As of now, one thing’s for sure; expect to have a highly tactile experience!
Soon you will be able to use your uber-hot BMW car for purposes other than a smooth driving experience. Connected Drive, a system that allows one to surf online when the car isn’t in motion will soon come as an optional add-on for BMW cars. It will also allow the proud owners of this luxury car to spend some more time in their car. Ladies, you’ll know where to find your man if he hasn’t returned to bed after a good romp. He’s sure to be in his precious BMW parked in the garage.
Photographers rejoice as here is a greater option for a portable DSLR camera- the lightest and smallest one till date! The Olympus E-420 is a 10 mega pixel camera. Features of this DSLR are surely not compromised by its size or weight. And, photographers whose backs have been killing them, lagging around their camera bags, filled with heavy equipment will be happy to know about the E-420.
Apple’s iMacs are used by almost every person in creative fields. A visionary and highly imaginative designer has conceptualized a superb design for the iMac. In Nuno’s eyes, the iMac (what he likes to call the iView) has been reduced to just an ultra-wide screen that’s got a lot of curves, a built-in LCD on the back. Sounds like a great way to watch movies!
Soon, people will actually be able to read another person’s mind, and mind you, it will take place without telepathy or any of those mind games that shrinks try to trick you with! On a serious note, UCB neuroscientists have discovered some very heavy and intense things about the mind. They have used MRIs to find out what someone is looking at on the basis of brain activity. Okay, from the sounds of that, we won’t be getting this mind-reading technology in our lay hands for a while now. But, at least we know that it could happen scientifically, considering the fact that science sort of dismisses unexplainable happenings such as telepathy.
UK scientists are working on a device that will offer 100 times faster broadband speeds and that too at a much cheaper price! This could be a dream come true for most Internet users who love to download music and movies. Just imagine, you line up 15 movies for download, a minute passes by and voila! You will be ready to go. Just make sure you have your popcorn and nachos ready!
Are you a forgetful person who always forgets to carry their house keys? Well, the biometric fingerprint door lock could just be for you. With your finger as the only key, you won’t have to worry about forgetting your keys. An added benefit is that your friends (who will have to register their fingerprints) will be able to let themselves in without the need for you to be there.
Here is something amazing for graphic designers. Simtrix has come out with the SwiftPoint TriPed mouse which looks like a tripod! On a real note, this mouse combines the functionalities of a mouse, touchpad and a digitizer pen. The second mouse unveiled is the Slider which is perfect for laptop users. Very functional and very real, they will soon be available to all!
Lastly, here is something that all writers would love to have. IOGEAR has introduced the Mobile Digital Scribe pen that allows people to store handwritten notes and drawings on it, which can then be uploaded onto a PC. You can use it on pretty much any paper or some surfaces too. Moreover, the pen can scan visiting cards and sticky notes. Paper might just be done away with.
