SanDisk unveils 32GB Sansa View and 4GB Sansa Clip PMPs
SanDisk has revealed that the capacity of its Sansa Clip and Sansa View media players has been increased to 4GB and 32GB respectively.
The ultra-compact Sansa Clip was launched in September last year in storage capacities of 1GB and 2GB. But now the memory has been enhanced to 4GB. It sports a bright 4 line OLED display. With the improved memory, Clip will be able to hold as many as 1,000 songs along with a 15-hour long battery to play them.
Coming to the other launch- the Sansa View, which was initially available in 8GB and 16GB, it will now come with an amazing 32GB capacity. It will be able to store around 48 two-hour movies or 8,000 songs. The battery is expected to offer up to 35 hours with audio playback and up to 7 hours for video playback. In addition, the player also includes microSD/microSDHC card slot through which owners can expand the memory further. The View PMP features 2.4-inch TFT color screen with 320×240 resolutions for watching videos. It supports MPEG4, WMV and H.264 video formats and users can watch photos in jpeg format too.
Both, Sansa View as well as Sansa Clip supports MP3, WMA, WAV and Audible audio books. In addition, they offer support for several music download and subscription services, such as Rhapsody To Go, Napster, eMusic. Both the PMPs include an integrated microphone for voice recording along with an in-built FM tuner, with user option to create station presets. The devices come bundled with earphones and USB cable.
While the 4GB SanDisk Sansa Clip will be available for $79.99, the 32GB Sansa View will be priced at $349.99. Both the PMPs will be available across the US in February 2008.
