Helio Ocean Smartphone

Here is a phone that will probably make you forget you ever desired the iPhone. Helio has come out with an all new dual-slider phone called the Helio Ocean. It promises to be the ultimate ‘messaging’ phone, amongst many other features that will make you long for this phone.

Firstly, the Helio Ocean has a full QWERTY keyboard and a separate numeric keypad on either side of the phone. Each of these slides vertically as well as horizontally.

The Helio Ocean has a larger-than-life 2.4-inch, 260K-color high-resolution QVGA display, and external stereo speakers. This mobile phone also has support for Bluetooth. What is more, the Helio Ocean phone optimizes music playback for an estimated 15 hours of continuer audio.

All your emails, text messages, picture messages and instant messages are conveniently located in one spot on the Helio Ocean phone’s integrated messaging dashboard that provides access to AOL Instant Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, Earthlink email and Helio Mail. You could also add your own business email account as well.

Using the integrated search on the Ocean mobile phone, you will not need to open a separate search box. All one has to do is begin typing on the idle screen and the device will automatically switch into search mode, so that you can locate a contact, message or even quickly search the Internet.

Ocean also features a unique HTML browser so you can choose between favorite Helio WAP sites or surf any web site on the net. Ocean’s web browser also offers a mini map feature so you can navigate where you are on a web page and zoom in and out for easier reading.

Ocean’s 2.0 megapixel camera will take advantage of Helio UP, which lets users take a picture with their device, tag it with metadata including a title, description, keywords and location information and upload it directly to Helio Album, Helio’s photo service. Helio UP is GPS-enabled, giving users the option of attaching their GPS coordinates to their photos. This phone even has great support for Yahoo and Napster.

So, as you can see, we did not call the Helio Ocean phone the ultimate ‘messaging’ phone for nothing. With a peeve like this one, you will never want to lose contact with your friends! The Helio Ocean mobile phone will debut this Spring for a price of $295.

Can all of these articles about the new Helio phone STOP comparing this phone to the Iphone? The Helio phone is NOT GSM, therefore bring on the Iphone, a phone we can travel OUTSIDE the States with, not WITHIN ONLY…

Dang girl, don’t be jealous. Who cares if you can take the iPhone out of the states?? Very few ppl buy phones for that reason. Ugh. Helio kicks Cingular’s ass… all the way around the block.

OH… and WE have something much better than EDGE. LMAO!

I went to Norway with my Sony Ericsson W600i on Cingular, came back
    Month #1 - $314
    Month #2 - $1102
    Month #3 - $500

International roaming is too over priced to use without making urself sick with worry everytime you make or receive a call….

I switched to Helio in October, and frankly I’m EXTREMELY happy with not having the option for international roaming. My Ocean is on its way, i’ll have it friday!

In my opinion, Apple is the worlds greatest computer company but I hate iPod with a passion. Edge is so slow anyway, even if the iPhone was 3G, Cingular doesn’t even have 3G coverage in my area (Lancaster, CA about 45 min north of Los Angeles), but Helio does! HELIO ALL THE WAY!

I was considering a sidekick 3, but the Helio Ocean kicks the sidekick 3’s ass.
