Apple’s Mac Mini may soon get the Boot for no apparent Reason
The diminutive Mac Mini may soon be no more. Apple Insider has stated in a report that they have received internal information that Apple could discontinue their Mac Mini computer product.
Mac Mini happens to be the cheapest Mac available in the market today. It was originally launched in 2005 as a solution for ‘switchers’ from the Windows platform who had already had other hardware like the monitor, keyboard and mouse.
AppleInsider has stated that the company could soon discontinue the Mac Mini computer after a near-term upgrade or possibly even before that.
This could perhaps be the result of Apple’s recently launched Apple TV product. Most Mac Mini buyers preferred to use it as a media device. Now with the availability of Apple TV, the company feels that the Mac Mini needs to get the boot.
Incidentally, Apple’s Mac Mini computer is the only product from the company that is yet to be upgraded to feature the Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor.
It will definitely be disappointing for those who are looking for a cheap Mac computer. It would really have been great if Apple had updated the Mac Mini with the latest hardware technology, making it a cheaper alternative for those shifting from the Windows platform.
