Nokia's new USB Charger Great news for all Nokia clamshell users! The mobile phone giant has launched USB charger adapters that will work with any Nokia phone. Yes, you read it right, “ANY’ Nokia phone.

A few months back China passed a rule making it obligatory for all mobile phones to include a USB port in them. After which, most Windows mobile handsets and recent ones from Motorola and LG started offering standard USB chargers. The latest Nokia USB chargers plug into the USB slot on any PC, laptop or Mac, and recharges from there.

There are two Nokia USB charger models available, a 2mm one (CA-100) and a 3.5mm one (CA-70). No details on the price or availability have been revealed yet.

Nokia has already included a miniUSB port in phones like the 5300 XpressMusic edition.

For a fact, iPods, Palm PDAs etc have been charged via USB since time unknown. What’s really to be seen is whether a mobile phone can be fully charged in this way, as I know some devices can’t be completely charged unless connected to a mains adapter.
