PowerShot A550 and PowerShot A460 - Two New Digital Cameras by Canon

Today, Canon announced two new entry-level PowerShot A-Series camera models. The new models include the 7.1 megapixel PowerShot A550 and the 5.0 megapixel PowerShot A460 digital cameras. Both the models are packed with features and offer consumers the latest technological advancements in very user-friendly designs.
Both the Canon PowerShot A550 and the PowerShot A460 digital cameras are small enough to carry around, and this makes them a great option to capture all of life’s special moments.
The Canon PowerShot A550 digital camera is a 7.1 megapixel model, with a 4x optical zoom lens. Sporting a 2-inch LCD screen, the PowerShot A550 digital camera features Canon’s famous DIGIC II image processor that eases the delivery of crisp, vibrant images.
The Canon PowerShot A550 camera has replaced last year’s extremely popular PowerShot A530 digital camera, with new features such as responsive performance and low power consumption. Moreover, the PowerShot A550 digital camera offers higher resolution, a better battery life and a much bigger LCD screen than that of its predecessor. The new model is also compatible with MMC, SD and SDHC memory cards, and an enhanced movie mode that can record 30 fps VGA clips.
The Canon PowerShot A550 digital camera is very user-friendly, as it features a redesigned model dial that features five of Canon’s most popular Special Scene modes. The Canon PowerShot A550 digital camera retains many hallmark A-series features, some of which include an optical viewfinder and a very comfortable handgrip. This makes the PowerShot A550 digital camera from Canon ergonomically friendly.

The second model that Canon launched is the PowerShot A460 digital camera that features 5.0 megapixel resolution with a 4x optical zoom lens and a 2-inch LCD screen. The PowerShot A460 digital camera also incorporates Canon’s DIGIC II image processor that again delivers crisp image quality, fast performance and an excellent battery life.
The Canon PowerShot A460 digital camera replaces last year’s PowerShot A430 model, which had 4.0 megapixels and a 1.8-inch LCD screen.
Other features of the Canon PowerShot A460 include an optical viewfinder and compatibility with MMC, SD and SDHC memory cards.
The PowerShot A550 and A460 digital camera kits include a USB cable, an audio/video cable, a wrist strap, a 16MB MultiMediaCard and AA-size alkaline batteries as well as the Canon Digital Camera Solution Disc Version 30, featuring the latest versions of Canon’s powerful software.
The Canon PowerShot A550 and the A460 will sell for $200 and $150 respectively.
