iPhone to have longer Battery Life and Scratch-resistant Surface, says Apple

As the launch date (June 29) of Apple’s most-anticipated iPhone nears, the company is releasing more and more details about the touch-screen phone. This time, Apple has sent in word that the iPhone will have a much longer battery life than was originally estimated when it was first unveiled in January.
Apple’s iPhone is set to feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.
Besides, the iPhone, which combines a mobile phone, an iPod and the Internet all into one small and light-weight device, will have up to 250 hours (over 10 days) of standby time.
“With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone’s battery life is longer than any other ‘Smartphone’ and even longer than most MP3 players,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.
This includes the iPhone 3.5-inch display as well. So, you won’t have to worry about it getting scratched very easily.
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone will indeed be available in the US on June 29, 2007 in two models- a 4 GB model for $499 and an 8GB model for $599.
The company has also stated that the iPhone will be compatible with both PCs and Macs. Let’s hope that the iPhone has some interesting games as well.
