Apple Insider’s Hoax Email costs Apple $4 Billion; Causes Drop in Apple Stock
Everyone knows that Apple is looking at a June 2007 release for its highly-anticipated iPhone. But, according to popular gadget Web site Engadget, the iPhone release has been delayed and will make it debut in October 2007. At least this is what a leaked email from an insider at Apple said.
But everything that’s been said and spoken about the Apple iPhone cannot really be believed. And, people are getting even more curious now that the launch date is soon approaching.
This rumor proved to be extremely costly to Apple as it concerned one of the most anticipated product released in the past decade or so.
As analysts thought that the Apple iPhone would make a late entry in the market, Apple’s share stock dropped to a low in just a matter of minutes.
This seems like a prank by someone who really dislikes Apple. Who did it and why, we will never know. But it sure managed to cause a lot of chaos in just a matter of a few hours.
This is the impact that Apple’s iPhone has on the market, way before it has even been launched. We wonder what will happen when the iPhone does show up on stage!
