There’s a hint of nostalgia in the air as HP has just unveiled the “retro” HP 35s Scientific Calculator in commemoration of the original HP-35.

For those who were too young to remember, HP-35 happened to be the world’s first handheld scientific calculator that was launched 35 years ago.

The HP 35s Scientific Calculator pays tribute to its revered predecessor by retaining the classic design. Its new design includes protective raised edges allowing the calculator to rest comfortably in the palm of one’s hand.

More important than the design are the new features that the new HP 35s scientific programmable calculator has to offer. They include ample memory for keystroke programming, equation solving and over 800 storage registers.

The HP 35s scientific calculator also has around 100 built-in functions. It sports a large two-line display with adjustable contrast so that entries can easily be viewed.

Allowing a greater degree of flexibility is the ability to switch between Reverse Polish Notation (RPN). This calculator also includes an exclusive time-saving input mode and the traditional algebraic mode.

The HP 35s Scientific Calculator is expected to be available during late summer this year for a price of $59.99.
