Toshiba Gigabeat Digital Audio Players Toshiba Japan has just added two new flash memory-based Digital Audio Players to the Gigabeat DAP series. The new additions are called the Gigabeat U102 and the U101, which have 2GB and 1GB capacities respectively.

Something noteworthy about the new Gigabeat digital audio players is that they are incased in aluminum. This makes them smooth and shiny looking. More importantly, they look fairly durable as well.

The new Toshiba Gigabeat digital audio players have a 1.1-inch OLED screen (96 x 96 resolution). These players have an FM radio and transmitter. They can also play most audio formats such as WMA/MP3/WAV.

Measuring just 76.7 x 36.2 x 11.4 mm, and weighing just 42 grams, the Toshiba Gigabeat digital audio player is quite a handy player to have.

The Gigabeat digital audio player will go on sale in Japan from May 19, 2007 onwards. The Toshiba Gigabeat U102 (2GB) will carry a price tag of $150, while the U101 (1GB) will cost $123. Not much of a price difference there, so we say if you are in Japan at the time, it could be worth going in for the Gigabeat U102 digital audio player.
