Samsung's newly launched digital cameras

Samsung has released six new digital cameras, which includes S1050, S850, L73, L700, S630, and S730.

The first and foremost is the 10.1 megapixel Samsung S1050 digital camerawhich includes a 5x optical zoom lens, 3-inch LCD screen, SD slot, shutter speed of 1/2000 of a second, and a top ISO of 1600, which can be helpful in low-light shots. It can shoot video anywhere from 160 x 128 to 800 x 600 at 20fps.

Next is the Samsung S850 digital camerafeaturing a 8.1-megapixel lens and a 5x optical zoom and has the same maximum shutter speed and ISO as the S1050. It can also shoot video from 320 x 240 to 800 x 592 at 30fps.

Samsung L73 digital camera is the third digital camera to be launched. The 7-megapixel L73 is a sleek, pocket-sized digital point-and-shoot with 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, top shutter speed of 1/2000 of a second, and ISO 1600. In addition, it integrates Face Recognition technology that can recognize up to 9 faces at a time, and will adjust for optimal image quality in portraits; optical image stabilization; and the Smart Touch user interface that employs two sets of pressure-sensitive buttons to access the camera’s controls.

Other features on the L73 camera include a movie mode with four resolutions up to 800 x 592 pixels and 30 fps, in-camera picture, and video editing. What’s more, it also includes a sensor that detects motion in the self-timer mode, and delays the exposure for 2 seconds when a subject moves.

The 7-megapixel L700 camera is pretty similar to the L73, having 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD screen, 11 scene modes, a top shutter speed of 1/2000 of a second, and ISO of 1600. It can also record MPEG-4 video in VGA (640 x 480) at 30fps.

The remaining two cameras are the 6-megapixel S630 camera, which has a 2.5-inch screen and two video settings in 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 at 30fps; and the 7-megapixel S730 with 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, 1600 ISO, 1/2000 of a second shutter speed, and 640 x 480 resolution at 30fps. Both these cameras are powered by convenient AA batteries.

All new Samsung digital camera models feature Samsung’s latest ‘Wise Shot’, which takes two pictures in a row - one with flash on and one with it off but with the ISO pumped up (as high as ISO 1600) to keep the shutter speed high and minimize blur from camera shake.

All the new Samsung cameras will be available in Q1 of 2007. The prices are - S1050 for $349.99; S850 for $249.99; L73 for $299.99; L700 for $249.99; S630 for $179.99 and S730 for $199.99.
