Acer has revealed that it is intending to begin selling a Ferrari Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), thereby further enhancing its range of Ferrari-branded technology that already includes notebook PCs and a monitor. Acer made this announcement at the Computex 2007 event.
The new black PDA sports a candy-apple red trim and uses the Windows Mobile software. Officially dubbed the Ferrari Racing Personal Navigator features built-in GPS (global positioning system).
Acer’s latest PDA undoubtedly bears a strong family resemblance to Acer’s c500. However the similarity ends at the looks itself. According to Acer, the two PDAs use different hardware under the hood. Though the detailed specifications have not yet been revealed, little that’s known includes the facts that the new Ferrari PDA comes with special wallpaper that features Ferrari cars, and it offers special sound effects, such as the sound of a roaring engine, for various user actions, the company said.
Other specifications include ALK CoPilot version 6 navigation software, a slot for an SD (Secure Digital) card, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
The PDA will first hit shelves across Europe by beginning of Q3 of 2007. No info on the pricing yet.
