The One Voice Remote

Like our head our hands too require a little bit of rest, and I’m quite sure One Voice Technologies, the first developer of 4th Generation voice solutions for the Telecom and Interactive Multimedia markets, devised a cool software product for the same.

One Voice Media Center Communicator software The Media Center Communicator allows users to operate their Media Center PCs by voice, everything from increasing the volume to recording your favorite TV show, from calling your mom to checking emails. It does it all.

One Voice is showing at Electronic House Expo (EHX) a Media Center remote with the intercom built in, along with an adapter that plugs into the Media Center. The My Voice Remote communicates via 900-MHz RF to the adapter at distances of up to 150 feet away.

“EHX Fall 2006 is a great venue for One Voice to debut our Windows Vista version of Media Center Communicator,” said Dean Weber, president and CEO at One Voice Technologies. “In addition, One Voice will begin taking orders for OEM bundles of Media Center Communicator plus our new My Voice Remote. MSRP for the bundle is set at $249.95. The My Voice Remote has been a tremendous hit with our OEM partners giving users a 100+ foot range for voice control of Media Center and Skype phone calling from anywhere inside or outside your house. This is a great bundle for a wireless Skype microphone with 100+ foot range and voice control for Media Center all for a very affordable price.”

Pcalchemy, Inc., a leading Internet retailer and system builder specializing in media center systems and hardware, will bundle One Voice’s My Voice Remote and Media Center Communicator v3 for Windows Vista on Pcalchemy’s Extreme Edition Media Center systems running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition.

Dean Weber, president and CEO at One Voice Technologies said, “We are very excited to have Pcalchemy be the first to launch a complete voice controlled, Skype enabled Media Center system using our new My Voice Remote. Pcalchemy is a forward looking, passionate company offering leading digital home products. The combination of One Voice’s My Voice Remote, Media Center Communicator, Windows Vista and Pcalchemy’s Extreme Edition systems will offer tremendous features to consumers looking to purchase the ultimate digital home experience.”
The RF technology offers 16 selectable frequencies. The adapter is plug-and-play USB; no special drivers are required. (The RF communications is for the voice control only; operating the TV and MCE takes place via infrared commands.)

The My Voice Remote also supports Skype, so it can be used as an IP telephone. Press the Skype button to initiate or answer a phone call.

Exhibiting in the Microsoft Windows Vista Lounge during the EHX, One Voice demonstrated its product on a Vista Media Center.

The $250 unit (with One Voice Media Center Communicator software) is expected to ship in time for the holidays.
