MDR-7509HD Professional Headphones and new Headset Microphone Systems introduced by Sony
Sony Electronics has launched its new MDR-7509HD professional headphones, which have been designed mainly to meet the closed-type monitoring needs of front-of-house, studio engineers, musicians and other audio professionals who work with high-resolution digital audio recording and playback equipment.
The new MDR-7509HD headphones are capable of handling the high frequency response, which is presented by Direct Stream Digital (DSD) and High Sampling PCM recording technologies.
The Sony MDR-7509HD headphones also features 3000mW power capacity for high-level sound monitoring and 360J/m3 high power neodymium magnets, which enable driver units to reproduce clear midrange tones.
“These new headphones incorporate HD driver units capable of 80 KHz ultra-wide range reproduction,” said Paul Foschino, senior manager for professional audio in Sony Electronics’ Broadcast and Production Systems Division. “Their superb tonal balance and extended frequency range enable them to take full advantage of the 24 Bit/96 KHz expanded bandwidth achieved by such products as Sony’s new PCM-D1 portable recorder.”
The MDR-7509HD professional headphones are currently available at a suggested list price of $265 (Rs.12,343).
Sony Electronics have also announced the availability of the new ECM-322BC and ECM-322BMP headset microphone systems, which have been designed for comfort and is able to clearly pickup sound in live sound, corporate, house-of-worship and educational applications.
“These new headset mics represent a completely new type of design,” said Paul Foschino, senior marketing manager for professional audio at Sony Electronics. “Lightweight, extremely comfortable and inconspicuous, these systems were created to provide A/V presenters, lecturers, ministers and educators with state-of-the-art hands-free capability.”
The ECM-322BMP mic is also available in a UWP-X5 headset/wireless package, which includes a body-pack transmitter and a plug-in wireless tuner module. These wireless tuner modules can be plugged into Sony’s “all-in-one” SRP-X700P and SRP-X500P digital powered mixer/amplifiers, which can each accept two UWP Series tuner modules. Also, the new Sony MB-X6 tuner base can accept a maximum of six wireless modules.
The ECM-322BC headset microphone system features a four-pin connector for Sony’s WL-800 Wireless Series and will be available at a price of $165 (Rs.7,686 )
The ECM-322BMP headset microphone system has a 1/8-inch connector for the UWP Series Wireless and will be available at a suggested list price of $150 (Rs.6,987).
The UWP-X5 Headset/Wireless Package, including the ECM-322BMP headset, UWP body pack transmitter and URX-M1 tuner module, will also be available this fall for a suggested list price of $699 (Rs.32,599).
