Minox Suntimer

Minox, a Germany-based camera and optical company has just introduced an innovative instrument that is suitable for people who lead an active lifestyle called the Minox Suntimer. The Minox Suntimer helps users estimate the maximum amount of time for safe exposure to sunlight in the most accurate manner possible.

The Minox Suntimer has a small and compact design. You can expect the Suntimer to be no larger than a wrist watch. Those who lead an active and outdoors lifestyle and spend a lot of time in the sun for whatever purpose can now do so without overdoing it. After all, in today’s day and age, skin protection has become the need of the hour, what with all the increased levels of UV radiation. In fact, sportspeople and outdoor lovers who go hiking, fishing, skiing, surfing, biking or trekking will find the Minox Suntimer exceptionally useful.

The Minox Suntimer helps to keep a check on damaging UV radiation and sensible judges the overall conditionals due to the high technology used in it. The Minox Suntimer incorporates special sensors that measure the amount of ultraviolet radiation in sunlight. Minox Suntimer then provides the user with information on the intensity of UV radiation at the time.

When determining the optimum time to remain exposed in the sun, important individual factors such as skin type and the protection factor of sunscreen in use can also be programmed into the Minox Suntimer. Thus the user is able to get maximum time reading, which is individually adjusted to the user’s personal profile. When that time expires, the Minox Suntimer sounds an alarm that suggests you get out of the sun!

The Minox Suntimer sports a universal fixing band that offers various fixing options. For example, you would be able to wear it on your upper arm or on the wrist, on a backpack or even on a baby pram. From this location, the Minox Suntimer measures the sun’s UV radiation continuously. With the help of its dynamic calculations, the Minox Suntimer adjusts when there is sometimes little or no radiation at all by relying on its sensors. For example, when the user is indoors or in the shade, the pre-calculated maximum time for exposure to sunlight is automatically adjusted and corrected.

Besides informing users on the ultraviolet radiation levels of sunlight, the Minox Suntimer can be used as a watch, stopwatch and an alarm.
