Tech Pranks for this April’s Fools Day
April’s Fools’ Day AKA All Fools’ Day, which is celebrated around the world on 1st April every year, is one day on which you can play the biggest hoax or practical joke on your friend or even enemy and yet get away with it, coz all that you need to say is “C’mon it’s April’s Fools’ Day”. But this time around we don’t plan to get evil (well, don’t you see the divine halo on our heads) and suggest you a line of gifts that may initially look quite ordinary but finally turns out to be something that’s sure to leave a smile on the victim’s face.
First on my list of pranks is the USB Phantom Keystroker, which I am keeping aside as an exclusive gift for my colleague who keeps pestering me with silly emoticons and messages whenever I’m busy reporting about an important news article. Well, so what does this USB Phantom Keystroker exactly do? Just connect this naughty device via USB on to the victim’s PC and sit back and enjoy the fun. The Phantom Keystroker mimics a keyboard and mouse and sometimes makes random mouse movements and types out odd rubbish text and phrases.
While a simple jumper setting allows the prankster to choose between either keyboard garbage typing, annoying mouse movements or both, an adjustment pot sets the duration between “events”.
The prank that I’m just about to tell you is indeed quite an appetizing one. Called “Toasted notes“, this product can actually ploy even a chef into believing that it is a real slice of bread. Toasted notes is actually nothing but a simple post-it dispenser, which is in the shape of a slice of toast. It comes bundled with 5 buttery notepads that literally look like real butter on toast from a distance. Quite an exciting April’s Fools’ Day prank, especially if played exactly an hour before lunch time.
Here’s another gizmo that you can perhaps gift to your impish man. Though it appears to be a stylish looking pendant, what you would be actually giving him is a cool looking MP3 player. The chic MusiQ digital audio player from BenQ is available in capacities of 1GB and 512MB. For a fact if April’s Fools’ Day gifts and pranks got this exciting, then who wouldn’t want the first day of every month to be a “Fools’ Day”!
It’s a pen…No it’s a mouse…No it’s a digitized pen-cum-mouse!
The wowpen may perhaps drop the jaws of those at the receiving end when they first see the product, thinking it’s an ordinary pen. But it actually turns out to be a digitized pen through which users can sign their real signatures on their emails. What’s more, users can also draw pictures on the screen and send a personal handwritten enclosure too. So this implies that the wowpen actually works as a computer mouse aswell. It includes a USB clip, which can be attached to the paper and has the ability to read whatever is being drawn, sketched or free written by the consumers in a raw state. Furthermore, it is also represented on real time on the computer screens and can be saved and shared instantly.
The wowpen’s bundled handwriting recognition software enables users to transfer the written notes into text. Alterations such as a change in the width of the lines, change in the color of the ink on the screen can all be done. So simply press the built-in button on the device and get ready to transform the pen into a mouse.
And here’s the best for the last. A perfect prank for someone with whom you share quite a love-hate relation.
The Remote Control Middle Finger at first glance would leave anyone wondering as to why on earth have I been gifted “this”. But well, this very deceiving middle finger is actually a remote control. You just need to simply push a button and voila there goes the middle finger up. The wireless remote control has a range of 50 feet (15 meters). It looks extremely realistic and is sure to leave your friends and colleagues in splits when they actually discover the product.
Well, that brings us to the end of the exclusive compilation of April’s Fools’ Day gadgets and gizmos that you could gift someone this April 1st. Play a prank, have a blast, but don’t be mean, as the day is apt for fun and enjoyment and surely no reason to upset anyone.
