At a lavish press event in Mumbai, India, Palm rolled out the Centro smartphone for the Indian market. Centro gives its owners the ability to create, edit and view Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and thus perfectly manage their work related activities. On the other hand, the smartphone’s instant messaging facility makes it possible for users to be in touch with family, friends and loved ones.

The other key features of the Palm Centro smartphone are:

  • QWERTY keyboard
  • Touchscreen as an alternate input option
  • 1.3 MP camera
  • Web browsing capability
  • Multimedia access
  • Email
  • One-touch speakerphone and conference calling ability

  • Olivier Rozay, Palm’s regional director for Asia Pacific said, “The combination of keyboard, touchscreen and Palm’s trademark ease of use makes Centro intuitive and easy to use for staying in touch.” Adding, “Consumers who are thinking about stepping up to a smartphone will find Centro the perfect first choice-it’s rich in features but also comes in small size, cool design.”

Furthermore, the Palm Centro is customizable with a slew of applications such as Women Calendar, Diet & Exercise etc. which can be downloaded from www.palm.com/solutions.
