HP India unveils Snapfish and Speedy Photosmart pm1000 Microlab Printer

Today, HP India organized an event to showcase the company’s strategy to revolutionize the digital photography market with the launch of HP Retail Photo Solutions and the online photo service called HP Snapfish.
Present at the event was V.Krishnan, GM- Consumer Sales, Imaging & Printing Group, HP India Sales who said, “Today’s announcement brings HP closer to realizing our vision for creating an all-digital photography marketplace. We are very excited about the HP Revolution unveiled today that will take digital photography to the next level.”
“By establishing a footprint of 3000 Retail Photo outlets with HP Retail Photo Solutions by 2010 and photo delivery through Snapfish across India, we hope to change the dynamics of the Photo printing market,” he added.
The HP Retail Photo Solutions comprises the HP Photosmart Studio and Hp Photosmart om1000 Microlab Printer.
The newly unveiled HP Retail Photo Solutions offers end-to-end digital photography printing services with high quality HP photos that last 5 times longer than traditional photos. Consumers will be able to print on various surfaces including art paper and canvas.
What’s more; consumers will also be able to print out photos on to mugs, T-shirts, mouse pads, photo greeting cards, posters, calendars and coasters. This surely takes personalization to the next level and they certainly make for great gifts as well!
HP will be working with retail partners to bring its Retail Photo Solution in a wide variety of locations such as supermarkets, photo specialty stores, electronic stores, office product stores and traditional photo service stores.
Also unveiled at the event was the rather colorful new brand identity of the HP Retail Solution, which is a hypnotic Multi-Color Swirl with the punch line ‘Celebrate Life with HP Photos.’

HP also introduced a HP Photosmart ps2000 Studio (HP Photosmart Express Kiosk) that delivers all the above mentioned services and solutions to the consumers. This product features a touch screen interface and allows the consumer to access the printer and customize their images.

The star attraction of the event (besides the newly unveiled products, of course!) was Mandira Bedi, who earned herself a coffee mug that had her own picture printed on it.
The newly launched India-centric Snapfish service offers consumers a chance to order and create a wide range of prints, enlargements and personalized photo merchandise online. This service also provides free photo editing tools and software.
Bala Parthasarthy, VP-Online Imaging, HP, was also present at the event. He commented on the launch of Snapfish in India saying, “It will change the way consumers ‘click-print-share’ photos in India. We have customized Snapfish to the needs of the Indian consumers with breakthrough pricing of Rs.2.95 per print in the photo printing domain.”
With its newly unveiled HP Retail Photo Solution, Hewlett Packard has indeed reduced photo printing (an activity that was never dreamt of a decade ago) to something as easy as a three step process:
This event turned out to be a whole lot of fun, just like any other event hosted by HP. Those present left with a smile on their faces and a photo of themselves in front of the new HP Multi-Color Swirl logo as a backdrop. The HP Photo Retail Solution will certainly benefit photography enthusiasts and ordinary consumers alike.
