Yahoo Messenger, formerly known as Yahoo Pager is a free service that enables you to see chat with your friends online by sending them instant messages. The Yahoo Messenger software also alerts you to new emails in your Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Personals account and also when you have upcoming events recorded in your Yahoo Calendar.

This program also comes with various Yahoo services like Launchcast Radio, Yahoo Games, and Yahoo Audibles. Using a Webcam, you can see who you’re chatting with or view the Webcam of any Yahoo member who has granted you access. The latest version of the Yahoo Messenger includes PC-to-PC calling, voicemail and call history, and drag-and-drop photo sharing.
This instant messenger is a freeware software and is available for Windows, Macintosh, Unix and Mobile platforms.

I been told Yahoo is not compatible with Vista. One uses 32 bit technology and one 64. Big boos to Yahoo for not addressing this. Enough time has passed people! I use Vista 10 hours a day, 5 days a week and only problems I have are Yahoo voice chat and Yahoo games. Shame on Yahoo for not addressing this already. Vista is the wave of the future and Yahoo has dropped the ball. Many of us are going to paltalk now where Vista users can use voice in the chat rooms. Yahoo needs to wake up and smell the roses already before time passes them by!

just seen the advertisement for yahoo voice for vista and was wondering where i get the download from because i cant use the voice on normal yahoo in conversations
it said to apply email address and i will be notified any ideas on when the new messenger will be out for Vista ? any help on this matter would be grealty appreciated thanks

I use win Xp sp2 for web chats. Lately I have been facing a problem with yahoo messenger. whenever I use the web cam the messenger hangs up which does not sort out even after restart. I have uninstalled and reloaded the messenger as well as IE 6, all over atleast thrice. I get a IE script error which states

the camera I am using is QHM 500LM from QHMPL I also cannot uninstall the previous software of this camera though whenever i install from the cd it completes the install. I now have about four installs of the cam software but cannot uninstall any of them.
