JVC’s recently announced 2010 Everio lineup gets yet another model priced at under $500. The company introduces the new high definition Everio GZ-HM340 featuring 16GB of internal memory in addition to an SD/SDHC card slot.

Boasting of all the functions and enhancements that were revealed through the 2010 Everio portfolio, it also includes advancements in low light capabilities and image stabilization A new auto recording feature and time lapse recording allows users to work conveniently. Users are assured steady images even while walking with the latest introduced Advanced Image Stabilizer (A.I.S) function. When shooting bright scenes with the full wide to 5x zoom, the AIS is available on all models.

As for the time lapse recording attribute, it is claimed to be a sophisticated but easy-to-use feature. It should allow time-lapse shooting in one- to 80-second intervals offering to reduce hours-long segments to seconds. The Auto record feature keeps to its name and allows automatic initiation of recording. Users can also choose to effortlessly share created digital files to YouTube, iTunes and more in a range of formats thanks to the Media Browser software for Windows.

Featuring a Konica Minolta HD lens, the camera delivers a 20x optical zoom. Users will also find the device automatically switching between two internal media for continuous, uninterrupted recordings like other Everio high-definition models. Using dual SD cards or flash memory, users can shoot seamless or drop-out-free recordings. The HD-model enhancements also comprise of the Face Flow Thumbnail feature.

Complemented by a 2-way grip belt, the black camera further shows off a new, slim design. Besides being fashionable, it’s also easy to carry and comfortable to hold. With the redesigned grip belt, it now works in two handy ways. It can either be employed as a conventional handle-style grip when both ends are snapped in place or as a strap when one end of the belt is released.

Enthusiasts can expect to lay their hands on the new Everio GZ-HM340 later this month for around $499.95.
