Nikon expands its stylish camera family in India with the release of eight new Coolpix cameras. Launched just in time for the summer vacation, the fashionable range boasts of advanced technology and features that should elevate the Indian consumer’s picture-taking experience. Comprising of four Style series cameras, three Life series cameras and one Performance series camera, Nikon’s latest offerings come at affordable prices.
Ideal for users who enjoy capturing memories during vacations, the eight new cameras, Nikon claims mainly targets consumers who look forward to the holiday season.

This new offering of the Coolpix cameras will help our customers gear up for their vacation plans to capture memorable and fun filled moments with loved ones.”
He further added, “With this new range of eight cameras, Nikon once again offers array of features to its varied customers. We strongly feel that a camera must be a reflection of the one using it. Consumers look for a host of criteria while choosing a camera like technology, appearances, ease-of-use and most of all the quality of images the camera produces and we can proudly say that Nikon is the answer to all the above.”
Equipped with Nikon’s industry-leading Nikkor lenses, the novel cameras offer accurately detailed and brilliant color images. Based on the company’s Expeed digital image processing concept, all eight cameras deliver high-quality pictures with amazing sharpness. The cameras are also bundled with some of the latest technologies like Touch Focus, Smart Portrait System, improved Face-priority Auto Focus and Scene Auto Selector.
The first camera in this exclusive India-specific line-up is Nikon’s Coolpix P90 camera which is part of the company’s patent Performance series. A perfect companion for users with advanced photography skills, the camera sports 24x optical zoom, 3” vari-angle LCD display with attributes like tilt and anti-reflection coating and a high-speed capability of around 15fps. Covering wide angle to superphoto, the P90 also includes a 4-way VR Image Stabilization System, electronic viewfinder, quick retouch and distortion control along with an ISO 6400 capability.
Leading their way into the Coolpix Style series camera portfolio are four new models namely the S630, S620, S230 and S220. Also dubbed as the S-series, the innovative cameras come in stylish bodies and fashion-forward colors. Starting with the Coolpix S630 camera, it adorns a compact form factor allowing it to easily snuggle into a user’s pocket. With 12 megapixels and 7X optical zoom, the camera features 2.7” LCD, continuous mode shooting up to 11fps, blink proof. The camera is available in silver color.
The S620 camera is dressed in black color and boasts of 12.2 megapixels with 4x wide optical zoom. Key features include fast start-up time of 0.7 seconds, subject tracking and motion detection. As for the S230 camera, it is bundled with a 3” high-resolution LCD touch screen display. The 10 megapixels camera has 3X optical zoom with features like one-touch focus and zoom. Loaded with innovative functions like write and draw, the camera is available in purple, silver and red colors. The last camera in the S-series is the Coolpix S220 which has an ultra-sleek body measuring about 18mm. With a 2.5” LCD, the 10 megapixels camera comprises of functions like 3X optical zoom, blink proof, quick retouch and more. The camera is dressed in silver, green, purple, blue and magenta colors.
Also marking their presence in the Indian photography terrain are the L100, L20 and L19 cameras from the new Life series camera family. The easy-to-use cameras are a great value for money thanks to their user-friendly features and functions. Speaking individually of the cameras, the Coolpix L100 is a 10 megapixels camera with a 3” high-resolution LCD that sports an anti-reflection coating. Attributes include 15x optical zoom, continuous mode that can take up to 30 consecutive frames at 13fps. The camera is available in a shade of black.
The Coolpix L20 and L19 cameras are 10 and 8 megapixels cameras respectively. While the former sports a 3” LCD monitor, the latter comes with a 2.7” LCD monitor. Both the cameras are packed with 5 color options for special effects, 2 AA batteries, and 3.6 X optical zoom, easy Auto mode with Scene Auto Selector, Smart Portrait System and Scene Auto Selector. While the L20 camera comes in silver, black and red colors, the L19 camera is available in silver color.
Starting this month onwards, the eight cameras will be available nationwide. The P90 is priced at Rs 25,950. The S630, S620, S230 and S220 can be acquired for a price of Rs 24,950, Rs 18,950, Rs 14,250 and Rs 9,950 respectively. As for the L100, L20 and L19, they will be available for a respective price of Rs 18,450, Rs 8,950 and Rs 7,450.
