Ricoh has introduced the new R8 compact digital camera in the UK market. The R8 camera features a 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens and 10 megapixel resolution.

A large 2.7-inch, 460,000-pixel HVGA LCD and the same 1:1 aspect square format photography function are some of the key features of the R8 camera.

Also the new R8 camera is equipped with the tools such as:

Color tone correction

White balance compensation

Trimming still images tool

Vibration correction functions

A face recognition mode

Macro functions

Besides, the R8 camera also features an improved ADJ. feature that adjusts button functions instead of cross-key. Furthermore, the new camera has 24MB internal memory and supports SD cards up to 2GB and SDHC cards up to 8GB.

The R8 comes along with DB-70 battery and offers 270 pictures in one charge. The new camera is expected to ship in March 2008 in black and silver colors. The R8 camera will be available in the market for £249.99.
