Olympus Camedia SP-570UZ Digital Camera featuring 20X Optical Zoom Lens, unveiled

Olympus has rolled out its all-new Camedia SP-570UZ digital camera. What’s most special about Olympus’ latest product is that it is a lens-integrated digicam which includes a 20X optical zoom along with a 10MP CCD. Incorporating a focal length of 26 to 520 mm on a 35mm camera basis, the Camedia SP-570UZ can shoot images up to 3648×2736 pixel resolution. In addition, it can also record up to 640×480 (VGA) resolution video at 30fps, while the still images can be recorded in DCF compatible JPEG or RAW format.
There are three different sequential shooting modes in the Olympus Camedia SP-570UZ digital camera. First and foremost is the “normal mode” in which the digicam supports sequential shooting of about 7 shots at 1.2fps, with auto focusing as well as manual focusing options. With respect to the exposure, full-auto, aperture preferred and shutter preferred modes along with manual mode can be chosen.
The second mode namely “High-speed mode 1″ employs a mechanical shutter, which can be only used when the resolution is 2560×1920 or lower, enabling sequential shooting of about 30 shots at 7.2fps. And finally the electronic shutter-based “High-speed mode 2″ allows sequential shooting of around 30 shots at approximately 13.5fps when the resolution is 2048×1536. The SP-570UZ bundles an electronic viewfinder (EVF) with about 230K-pixel resolution and a 2.7-inch LCD panel with the same resolution. Users can also connect an external flash device to its hot shoe, along with the integrated flash.
Slated to hit shelves on March 6, the Olympus Camedia SP-570UZ digital camera will carry a price tag of around ¥60,000 (US$554).
