Panasonic has announced the launch of a new Lumix DMC-TZ50 digital camera with Wi-Fi capabilities and standard 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity. The 9.1 megapixel camera further features 10x optical zoom and ability to record HD video.

Panasonic is offering a 12-month pass to 8,800 T-Mobile hotspots wit the purchase of the camera too. So users can upload captured images directly to Google’s Picasa Web Albums service.

The TZ50 digital camera features a 3-inch LCD screen. Besides, it also boasts Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto (iA) mode that automatically controls exposure, red-eye correction, camera shake, ISO settings, Scene modes, face detection and focus control.

“Active users will appreciate the TZ50′s Wi-Fi capabilitilies so they can share photos while on-the-go, but they will also benefit from HD video recording, a 10x optical zoom and a 28mm wide-angle lens, so capturing images, whether far or wide; moving or still — is all possible with this compact camera,” said Alex Fried, National Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.

The Lumix DMC-TZ50 digital camera from Panasonic will hit the US market at the price of $449.95 in May 2008. The camera will be available only in silver color.
