Slacker, Howcast added to Sony Bravia Internet Video Link

Slacker Media on Bravia Sony’s Bravia Internet Video Link has got the Slacker Personal Radio and Howcast Media as its content providers, the company launched the services today.

“Internet content is expanding faster than ever and Sony is bringing it straight to BRAVIA televisions,” said Randy Waynick, senior vice president of Sony Electronics’ Home Products Division. “Slacker and Howcast are great examples of new types of entertainment that are bridging the gap from an Internet experience to entertainment shared in the living room.”

Thanks to Slacker Personal Radio, Bravia Internet Video Link will now get millions of licensed songs and more than 100 individually programmed genre music stations. With Howcast, there will be a host of how-to videos in the content offered to Sony’s Bravia Internet Video Link users.

Revamped The King of Fighter XII to be available in 2009

Ignition Entertainment Ltd., the publisher and developer of The King of Fighter XII today announced that the game will be hitting the markets in 2009.

The video game will be released for both North America and Europe next year; however no specific date has been announced.

The great arcade game 3-on-3 fighter game has gone under a complete make over with all the sprites been dropped and replaced with new 2D high definition, high resolution sprites. All it will be sporting a detailed 2D backgrounds which has been drawn 100 percent by hand, says Ignition.

Google Image Search now includes LIFE photo archive

LIFE Collection on Google

Yes, you read that right, Google has brought a great opportunity to access some timeless classic masterpieces from LIFE photographers, photographs which were not made public earlier.

Be it the Zapruder film of the Kennedy assassination or the Dahlstrom glass plates of New York and environs from the 1880s, you will get it all from the LIFE photographs by photographers Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili, and Nina Leen.

This is a step by Google to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”, says the company.

The collection will include the newly digitized images which will also include photos and etchings produced and owned by LIFE. These works date back to 1750s!

Apparently, online 20 percent of the collection has been made online till date, and now here it is – a collection of as many as 10 million photos.
